Special Accomplishments: Established special hearing procedure in domestic violence cases for use in situation where victim asserts fifth amendment privilege, in order to derail prosecution

Butte County District Attorney’s Office, February 1991- May 1997
Duties: Environmental Protection/Code Enforcement Deputy, prosecuted environmental offenses and county code violations, assisted in design and implementation of regulatory and enforcement programs, assisted County Counsel’s Office in developing county ordinances related to county code violations, developed and presented training materials for environmental prosecutors, regulators and investigators
Special Accomplishments: Implemented and staffed the office’s first environmental protection unit

Butte County Counsel’s Office, June 1997- May 2007
Duties: Advise and advocate on behalf of various County departments, including Department of Water and Resource Conservation, Department of Development Services, District Attorney’s Office, Elections Office and Public Works Department
